Inspired from an original 14th century statue on display in Machado de Castro National Museum in Coimbra, Portugal, this handmade piece depicts a medieval knight in full armour astride his mount. This handmade statuette depicts Domingos Joanes with fine detail for his accoutrements – helmet, chainmail, sword, footwear with spurs, and his heraldic shield.
 
Crafted from plaster, and then hand aged to look like solid stone, this fine piece exhibits all the details of the knight and his mount.
